Arnotts Removal

Arnotts failed at every point. Items were list and damaged. The goods were in storage but were not delivered on the agreed day. The next day they stated arrival would be 11.00-12.00am and they came at 4.15. Bill Arnott said it was not his fault and put the phone down when I complained.
One month and I am still waiting for a missing item. They will not respond to phone or email.
They were not cheap or efficient.
I don't want anyone else to suffer this incompetent company.

Service cost: £2500

I called up Arnotts Removal because they were recommended by someone else. The owner, Mr Arnotts, came to estimate a price which was prompty done.

However, subsequently I had the following problems with them:

1. They promised to deliver packing boxes 3 times and they never did

2. I left about 3-4 voicemails most of which were not returned until the next day (unacceptable in a competitive market like moving)

3. I requested certain dates which they were not available (which is fine) but the way they responded to their unavailability was rude. I did not feel like I was treated like a customer. When I finally called to cancel them, they did not appear to care.

On two out of the 4 phone calls, I was also put on hold because they had to attend to something "personal" at home (it appeared to be family run company). This was unacceptable to me.

Overall, I would not recommend using their service.

I called them up to get a quote. Who ever was on the line said they would come over to have a look and provide me with a quote. I waited and waited and waited. No one showed up. Next day I called them back and the person on the phone tells me he does not want to move me as he didn't get anywhere to park and it seemed like a difficult place although I mentioned to the person that there is underground parking and I could direct him where to park before hand.
There are almost 300 flats in the building where I live and everyone has moved from somewhere without issues including myself. Also people move out all the time and none of the other professional movers had an issues with parking nor the move. VERY unprofessional I must say. Not recommended at all.

DO NOT USE ARNOTTS REMOVALS,REPEAT DO NOT.
This is a complete disaster as a moving company,abusive negligent, has no respect for customers items, will damage your property in storage and on moving, requires cash from private customers!
Has complete contempt for your items. The don't care attitude is evident from top to bottom,and it is bottom.
get a van and do it your self. Use someone to move your stuff on recommendation not a leaflet in the letterbox.
Do not get this work done on trust alone, ask, and ask again.
Your items will be trashed by ARNOTTS REMOVALS,plus you will get a very bad response if questioned about your payment.
Bad attitude in the very first few minutes of the job.

Used Arnotts to move from our house.

Staff were polite friendly and packed everything for us the day before the removal.

They are a traditional removals company who are not internet savvy but their costs were far cheaper than anyone else we had quotes from and calls were always returned by the following day. The problem nowadays is that everyone expects instant responses answers and with a removals company if they are "on a job" it may take a bit longer to get a reply.

If you are patient, they offer an excellent value for money removals service.
